Fossil Fuel Taxes for Health

Fossil fuel use drives air pollution and climate change, both of which have serious health consequences. Fiscal policies (including fossil fuel subsidy reform and fossil fuel taxes) have previously been used to address the environmental impact of fossil fuels, but to date have not been framed in terms of their health impact. Building on the policy momentum of COP26, this expert panel will reflect on the opportunities and challenges of rebranding fossil fuel taxes as a health tax.
