About Us

+SocialGood is an international community of changemakers convened by the United Nations Foundation. They come together to envision and pinpoint solutions to shared global challenges. As part of an interconnected global population inspired by the power of technology and digital media, we know that we can create the world we want by the year 2030.

Since its launch in May 2013, +SocialGood has hosted over 400 events connecting more than 75,000 changemakers in nearly 150 countries around the world. We’ve organized a social media broadcast at the base camp of Mt. Everest, a global summit at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, and even convened a discussion around how global issues, sports, and social good intersect on the sidelines of the World Cup in Brazil. +SocialGood connectors include entrepreneurs, educators, communicators, journalists, activists, and others who are dedicated to fostering positive change.

How it began

+SocialGood was inspired by the Social Good Summit, a global conference held every year on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, which explores the potential of technology and new media to impact social good  initiatives around the world. The +SocialGood Connectors initiative was created to build upon the momentum of the Summit, and turn the discussions into action. Since 2013, meetups have taken place both virtually as well as in-person from Nigeria to India to Brazil, bringing people together to discuss how innovation and technology can create lasting change.
